With deep respect for the site’s history and the people affected by its legacy, the group brings together community members, urban planners, and formerly incarcerated women to advocate for a redevelopment process rooted in justice, healing, and public good. The goal is to ensure any future use of the property reflects the needs and voices of the Near Eastside.

The committee works to ensure that land use decisions reflect the character, needs, and vision of local neighborhoods. It serves as a liaison between residents, developers, and city officials, helping neighbors understand proposals and voice their concerns or support.
