If you have information you’d like to get out to the community, please send it to me at mfetter@jhbcc.org or give me a call at 317.808.2336.

URGENT!  Green Shepherd Project

Our Near Eastside neighborhood partners with the Green Shepherd Project in the Willard Park neighborhood have had two of their sheep attacked this weekend.  They’ve lost Lily and Twisty is in stable condition at the Purdue Large Breed Animal Hospital.  They are facing some large costs for the care and addition of another sheep.  From their Facebook page:

“The estimate at Purdue is $500-$800. A new friend for Twisty, $150.”

More updates and pictures can be found on their Facebook page linked above.  Please feel free to send them a note of encouragement!

If you would like to donate to help alleviate some of these costs for this wonderful project, please make checks payable to:

Willard Park HCW

341 N Hamilton Ave, Indianapolis IN 46201.

“Sheep” in memo line please.

Willard Park of Holy Cross-Westminster Civic Alliance is a 501(c)(3), so all donations toward the Green Shepherd Project are tax deductible.

Happy Haunted Halloween

HHH 2013

NESCO Presents…
Happy Haunted Halloween Trunk or Treat Event

Halloween Day – October 31, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm
School 54 Parking Lot at 3150 E 10th St

Happy Haunted Halloween Trunk or Treat will be held in the School 54 parking lot with free fun for near eastside families including:
· – Music
· – Kids Costume Contest
· – Adult Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest
· – Prize for Best Decorated Trunk
· – Free Hot Dogs

This year Happy Haunted Halloween will be a Trunk or Treating event. It’s a safe alternative to trick or treating where instead of going door to door for treats kids go from vehicle to vehicle in a parking lot. A prize will be given for the best decorated trunk. We would like to have ALL NESCO neighborhoods, churches and businesses represented.
NESCO is looking for participants to come out and celebrate Halloween with us.

Here is how you can be involved:
· Bring your family to enjoy the event
· Decorate your trunk and hand out candy to near east side children
· Volunteer to make this event a success

If you or your organization is interested in taking part, please contact NESCO President, Kelly Wensing at nescopresident@gmail.com.

NOTE: We would like cars to arrive/setup by 4:45 – NESCO volunteers will be on-site setting up from 4:00 to 5:00pm.
