A big thanks to all who came out, participated, and volunteered at our very soggy Feast of Lanterns!  While this year didn’t exactly work out, we’re looking forward to planning next year.  If you’d like to be involved – stay tuned for future volunteer opportunities at our quarterly Neighborhood Summits (Next one is Oct 9th – See below), the NESCO website https://nescocommunity.org, and our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/IndyFeast

Thanks again!

Quarterly Neighborhood Summit

The next neighborhood summit is coming up in October!  If you have items you see as challenges for the neighborhood, please send them to Megan Fetter.  If you have celebrations you’d like to have mentioned at the meeting, send those too!  We’re looking at closing up our “garage” and we need to start thinking about what other items to feature on our agenda.  The neighborhood’s quality of life plan is a work in progress and we need your help.  Come on out and help improve the quality of life of the Near Eastside!  More info on the neighborhood’s quality of life plan can be found here:  http://neareastplan.org

WFYI – Neighborhood Project

We’re living in a time in Indianapolis where many of our neighborhoods are in a state of change.

In the news, we hear from neighborhood leaders when there’s a festival or event, from the city when a new policing initiative is announced, and from people on the street after a major crime has taken place. And while these items are important, we know they don’t tell the whole story.

That’s why this summer WFYI news is partnering with local freelance journalist Andrea Muraskin andAmerican Public Media’s Public Insight Network (PIN) to produce a radio series on our city’s changing neighborhoods. And we’re trying something new: the ideas for this series will come from you.

More info on this project and how you can participate can be found here:  http://www.wfyi.org/news/articles/is-there-a-story-in-your-neighborhood-waiting-to-be-told
