Tree planting at 802 North Olney Street and North Tuxedo Street
Saturday, November 4, 2017 900a – 1200p
Want to be part of a tree canopy transformation? Come join KIB and neighbors in planting an assortment of 59 large-growing, 1″ caliper shade trees in the tree lawns between Tuxedo and Olney Streets, part of Indy’s Near Eastside community. City trees help reduce the effects of urban heat island and storm water runoff, while providing us protection from harmful U/V rays. We hope you will be a part of this high-impact project and the 10,000 Trees initiative!
Citizens Energy Group, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) have joined forces to begin a long-term partnership to plant 10,000 trees across the city as a way to beautify neighborhoods and reduce combined sewer overflows to area waterways. 10 Thousand Trees is an initiative in support of Citizens Energy Group’s $2 billion investment that will nearly eliminate combined sewer overflows (CSOs) to area waterways by 2025.
