Pogues Run Trail Fundraiser

This fundraiser is part of a grassroots crowdfunding campaign to get the Pogues Run Trail done. The holdup has been a 1903 Luten bridge known as the Nowland Avenue Bridge just west of Rural. It’s the oldest surviving Luten bridge. But it is in such bad shape that it will have to be rebuilt. Due to its historic nature the design alone will cost in the six figures. The city has not identified funding to cover both design and construction, and encouraged community to find an alternate source for the design in order to get the trail going.

We have made good progress working with the city, ROW, Indiana Landmarks and Indianapolis Parks Foundation, who is our fiscal agent. A foundation has committed to matching our crowdfunding campaign up to $30,000. Now we need neighbors to contribute.

The fundraiser will include silent auction and 50/50 raffle. We are seeking items for the silent auction and talent including musicians, comics, etc. to help us draw a crowd. Let us know if interested helping.

If you can’t come to event but would like to support the Pogues Run Trail campaign, you can go to popindy.org and click on the ‘donate’ button. Thank you!
