June 21, 2014• Event• event submission
Inspired by the large colorful sundial in the park, Andrew Severns’ Sundial-Flatland, and the celebratory traditions behind the Summer Solstice also known as Midsummer… we decided to have a fun-raising event on the longest day of the year. Come celebrate with us!
There will be live music by: Native Sun, DMA, Billy Mack Collector, Speaker For The Dead, Miss Kimmy and Zorba Rose, Benny and the June Mac Wood and Keldon Snyder. There will be kids crafts, artists, additional performers, lawn games, a beer garden, and activities for all ages. Tlaolli Tamales and Gordon’s Ice Cream will be dishing out good food. The event will wrap up with a sunset yoga flash mob by Metta Yoga and a bonfire.
This celebration is free. Proceeds from donations and beer sales will go towards improvements at Fletcher Park.
