Cottage Home Neighborhood Association invites everyone to their annual block party on Saturday, October 12 2013 from 5:00 until 11:00 PM. This Halloween and zombie-themed party centers around the 700 blocks of Dorman Street and Highland Avenue, just south of St. Clair Street on Indianapolis’ near Eastside. This year will include Cottage Home’s Park and Community Space featuring its newly built shelter and 2 performance stages.
Our eclectic entertainment features local musicians Phil Reavis, Ruditoonz, No Direction, DJ Andy Capps, The Squires Family Band, Pork & Beans Brass Band, Brian Deer and The Achievers, and Coolidge. Or take a break around the fire pits after dark.
Children of all ages are encouraged to wear Halloween and zombie-themed costumes, enjoy the horse drawn hay rides, pudding eating contest, plus other kids games and other activities. Nicey Treat, Flat 12 Bierwerks, and Cottage Home’s own Becky Hostetter of Duos will be providing our sustanence and refreshments during the festivities.
This magical event is FREE to the public however we do ask that for those that can afford it, a donation of $5 be made to help pay for event expenses, entertainment, and future neighborhood projects. Proceeds will include helping the continued development of Cottage Home’s Community Space which will feature a brand new community shelter this year, beehive, green gathering space and gardens (including vegetables, herbs, wildflowers and fruit trees), all of which will bring a unique rural meets urban atmosphere for residents and friends of Cottage Home to enjoy well into the future.
