January 25, 2016• Meeting• event submission
The City of Indianapolis has received an EPA grant to fund Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments in and near the Mass Ave Brookside Industrial Corridor in 2016. This testing is recommended and often required before purchasing a commercial or industrial property. This funding assistance may be available to individuals and companies planning to buy or sell properties in this area to help expedite and prioritize the redevelopment of brownfield sites.
A Brownfield is commonly defined as an “abandoned, idled, or underutilized property where redevelopment is in part inhibited by actual or perceived environmental contamination.”
A public meeting will be held on Jan. 25th where representatives from the City Department of Metropolitan Development and the firms that will complete the testing will be present to explain the grant, the opportunities it will provide, and answer any questions.
Contact Emily Scott at escott@rileyarea.org with any questions prior to the meeting
